Whether for personal gain or out of lack of understanding, people throughout history have added to or taken away from the Gospel.  These teachings might seem good on the surface, but a deeper study will always point out the flaws to these claims.  Look at how Paul begins the fight against this group who is distorting the Gospel, and think about the importance of knowing the truth by knowing the authority of the Bible.
