God calls his people to repentance. The nation was currently physically thriving, but not only were they spiritually dead they would soon also lose the status they were so sure of. God tells them that He knows all the things they have done wrong.  The only cure?  To truly repent. Over and over He asks them to seek Him.  He calls out their false religious feelings about being God’s chosen people and calls them into action, to put their feet to the commands He has set before them, and to “seek good, not evil.”
