A Sure and Steadfast Hope

Preacher:
Series:
Passage: Hebrews 6:11-20

The hope we have in Christ is a sure and steady anchor for the soul and we are confident in this because God always keeps his promises.
Advent is what we call the season leading up to Christmas. It begins four Sundays before December 25, sometimes in the last weekend of November, sometimes on the first Sunday in December. This year it was November 29.
The word Advent means “coming” and while the four weeks of Advent help us focus on the birth of Jesus, it’s also an opportunity to wait in expectation of the second coming of Jesus Christ. Christmas celebrates that Jesus not only came as the Savior of this world but will one day soon come again as our victorious King!
During the four weeks of Advent, we celebrate four themes displayed to us through the birth of Christ and will be revealed in perfection at the coming of Christ: Hope, love, joy, and peace. The Advent season is a time to focus our hearts not around the traditions we have created, but in the treasure we have in Jesus Christ.
